Albert Wesker, usually referred to by his surname, is the main antagonist of the Resident Evil series. He was a high ranking member of the Umbrella company who was responsible for the near apocalypse the world is in due to his creations, before betraying them and starting his own goals to kill off nearly the entire population of Earth in order to rule over the best humans as a god.
In Japanese, he is voiced in Jōji Nakata in all appearances. In English, he has been voiced by Pablo Kuntz in Resident Evil, Peter Jessop in the 2002 remake of Resident Evil, Richard Waugh in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4, and D.C. Douglas in all appearances since Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is easily one of the, if not the cruelest and most heinous characters in the Resident Evil series, with his numerous heinous actions of unethical experimentation, populicide, torture, bioterrorism, mass murder, brainwashing and attempting to kill off almost the (if not the entire) entire human race with Uroboros so he could rule over the genetically superior humans.
- He is one of the most influential characters in the series, being the one responsible for Earth being near apocalyptic by unleashing his dangerous and infectious creatures on the entire population, which killed millions and proved that Wesker was even worse than his creator, Oswell E. Spencer. He also caused many of the conflicts in the series, as he was responsible for killing James Marcus, alongside William Birkin, killed off nearly all of S.T.A.R.S, created the T-Virus and was partially responsible for the G-Virus, which lead to the Racoon City outbreak and turned many people into tyrants, unleashed many of the B.O.W's on Rockfort Island, leading to the events of Resident Evil Code Veronica, was responsible for everything that took place in Resident Evil 5, and is the posthumous overarching antagonist of Resident Evil 6 as Neo-Umbrella wanted Wesker's blood from his illegitimate son, Jake Muller in order to enhance their C-Virus.
- He is extremely manipulative and intelligent, as he was able to deceive his fellow S.T.A.R.S members into believing he was on their side throughout almost the entirety of Resident Evil and succeeded in his goal to test out Umbrella's new creations on live humans by sabotaging the engine on Bravo teams helicopter and intentionally led both Alpha and Bravo team to Spencer Mansion, which was infested with many of Umbrella's creations, ending with almost the entire S.T.A.R.S team dying.
- He is one of the most powerful characters to ever grace the series, as he is built as a superhuman who is able to pull off many feats in athleticism, fighting and marksmanship with ease and is capable of absorbing Uroboros, which grants him the ability to turn into a nearly unkillable being with new powers such as being able to infect anyone he comes into contact with, having even higher physical strength then he already had and having the ability to launch himself into the air to travel distances easily.
