Avon Hertz is the main antagonist of Grand Theft Auto Online's The Doomsday Heist. He is a misanthropic businessman who wants to kill off all of humanity in order to replace them with robots and create a new world in his own image as a god, almost succeeding by taking control of the US government and hacking networks all around the world thanks to Cliffford which he intended to use for the sake of launching nukes and starting a global nuclear war, but his efforts are foiled when Lester Crest and the GTA Online Protagonists ultimately kill him and save the planet from destruction.
He was voiced by Sean McGrath.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Despite Grand Theft Auto's infamously high heinous standard, Hertz easily stands out as the worst the series has offered, being a misanthropic god wannabe that wants to kill off all of humanity through a nuclear war so he can replace them all with robots and create his own dystopian world, a crime that is exceptionally unique even by GTA standards.
- He is the most powerful character that has graced the series so far, being a billionaire with a highly advanced AI he named Cliffford who is capable of hacking into entire networks all around the world which Avon wanted to use to hack into all the nuclear weapons systems in the world to instigate his nuclear war, along with him temporarily taking control of the entire US government at one point. It was only through Lester taking advantage of Clifffords insecurities that Avon was able to be stopped, and even then, he came extremely close to succeeding in his goal, making him formidable despite his lack of physical attributes.
- He is highly manipulative, deceiving everyone by framing another terrorist named Bogdan for the potential nuclear war so that the protagonists, Lester Crest and Agent 14 would unknowingly help his plans to kill off humanity by aiding him with allowing Cliffford to be able to hack into the entire San Andreas defense network, leading to him taking control of the entire US government.
- Despite being a parody of other real-life billionaires and having his insecurities be the subject of a couple of jokes, he and his goals are still taken extremely seriously and are played for horror.
