“ | It's time we do a little redecorating! I could really use a castle of some kind! And how about some bubbles of pure madness?! This party never stops! Time is dead and meaning has no meaning! Existence is upside down and I reign supreme! Welcome, one and all, to WEIRDMAGEDDON! | ” |

“ | I've got some children I need to make into corpses! | ” |
~ Bill's most infamous line. |
Bill Cipher is the main antagonist of Disney's Gravity Falls franchise. He is an enigmatic demon who is trillions of years old and only shows interest in spreading chaos.
He is voiced by series creator Alex Hirsch.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is easily the most powerful paranormal entity in the show. He destroyed his home dimension with everyone he ever knew inside, tricked Ford into creating a portal for him, and is one of the most powerful entities in the Multiverse whose mere existence could destroy at least the entire Third Dimension if not kept in line. Time Baby tries to warn him of this but, already fully aware, ignored him as he obliterates him and his time agents.
- He's by far the most influential antagonist in the show, with him coming into contact with Stanford Pines and manipulating him into creating a portal that would allow him to cross into Gravity Falls. With what he planned on doing to the world causing Stanford's partner Fiddleford McGucket to become so traumatized to the point where he created a Mind Erasing device to forget it, with him using it repeatedly on himself to the point where it destroyed his mental state and turned him into the modern day Old Man McGucket. Stanford meanwhile, after realizing what Bill was truly planning, shut the portal down and tried to have his twin brother Stanley hide his Journals, which would end in a fight between the two which would lead to Stanley accidentally pushing him into the portal and causing him to be trapped between dimensions for decades, leaving Stanley to spend three decades trying to get him back. Due to how these events are the root of the overarching narrative in the show, that means that Bill is essentially the main reason why all of the major conflict happened in the first place. The only villain who can really compare to him when it comes to influence is Stanley Pines himself.
- While he suffered a genuine tragedy of accidentally destroying his home dimension and feeling bad about what happened as well as being treated as an outcast, he refuses to take responsibility for it and isn't affected all that much by the latter meaning that he is far past it.
- He is driven primarily by his sadism and his lust for chaos. Many of his comedic moments are there to show how sadistic he is, especially his scenes as "Bipper", and he describes his ultimate goal as "A party that never ends with a host that never dies".
- While too vile to be a Magnificent Baddie, he certainly has the brilliance, charisma, and confidence of one, adding to how dangerous he is.
- He thrives off of manipulating others into doing his bidding or letting him do his bidding, in particular manipulating Ford into building him a portal, tricking Dipper into making him into a vessel in "Sock Opera", and unleashing Weirdmageddon by manipulating Mabel, using her insecurities about the future to trick her into giving her the portal while possessing Blendin Blandin, a character whose eyes are usually covered.
- He exploits Stan and Ford's weaknesses by interrupting the Zodiac that would banish him through an opening caused by their needless bickering.
- While he was ultimately out-gambitted in the end, he was done so by Stan and Ford, who knew him well and required wiping all of Stan's memories.
- He says things Stanley and Gideon would never even think, such as "eat nightmares", "pain is hilarious", and "make children into corpses" for starters.
- He is easily the most heinous character in the show, with him having previously burned down his home dimension, making him the only villain in the show who committed omnicide as well as succeeding in it. Bill is only made more heinous in the show's finale where after breaking the rift that separated the Nightmare Realm and Gravity Falls and turning the world into an apocalyptic wasteland, with him breaking reality to the point where he put the entire universe at risk, something of which he fully knew but simply did not care.
