King Bowser, also known simply as Bowser, is the main antagonist of Illumination's 13th feature film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, an adaptation of Nintendo's Mario video game franchise.
He is the tyrannical king of the Koopa race and the ruler of the Darklands who desires to conquer the world using the powerful Super Star. With the assistance of his right-hand servant Kamek, his enforcer Koopa General and his army, Bowser plans to use the Super Star to target the Mushroom Kingdom and win Princess Peach's hand in marriage. In turn, his plan brings him into conflict with Mario after kidnapping his brother, Luigi, viewing the former as his rival to winning Peach's love and eventually becomes his arch-nemesis.
He is voiced by Jack Black.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He completely lacks any of his original counterpart's redeeming qualities and, although he is still sometimes comedic, his crimes are still taken seriously.
- He's caused most of events of film.
- His crimes include: the destruction of the penguin kingdom, attempting to sacrifice dozens of people during his wedding for Peach, attempting to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom and attacking Brooklyn upon being sent there.
- He injures Mario to the point where he's visibly bruised and struggles to stand up without support.
- He has complete control over the Koopa Kingdom and he was the owner the superstar for a while, thus being the most powerful villain in movie.
