Chester V is the main antagonist of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, He is an egotistical scientist that wants Flint's invention, the FLDSMDFR in order to make his new product the Foodbar 8.0 as delicious as possible, even if it means committing genocide on the sapient Foodimals the machine created. Deciding to take advantage of Flint's adoration for him, he manipulates the naive scientist into helping him with his goal before trying to kill him and his friends once they outlive their usefulness. He would eventually meet his end at the hands of said Foodimals after mistreating his assistant Barb to the point where she betrayed him, with LIVE corp presumably dismantling after the death of their leader.
He was voiced by Will Forte.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- While the FLDSMDFR attempted omnicide, it wasn't done out of its own will, making Chester the most heinous villain in the series due to attempting a large scale genocide on the Foodimals and attempting to kill Flint's friends by grinding them into food bars on his own will, along with getting dozens of his own Thinkquanauts killed on missions to retrieve the FLDSMDFR. Every other villain is either bog-standard or working under him, making him the biggest threat outside of the FLDMSDFR and the most evil villain in the series.
- He has the most influence in the series, being responsible for Flint becoming an inventor in the first place, being responsible for the events of the second film and almost killing off the majority of the main cast, something that no other villain in the series came close to doing.
- He is very powerful due to having a whole company's worth of resources, as well as having powerful inventions and a lot of influence due to being the best scientist in the world. The robo-suits he designed were so powerful that they were able to incapacitate Foodimals instantly with liquid nitrogen, with only the biggest of the Foodimals such as the Tacodile being able to fight them.
- He is shown to have a high level of intelligence, successfully masterminding a plan to find the FLDSMDFR by manipulating Flint and his friends into helping him find it under the false pretense that the Foodimals are dangerous and need to be destroyed and using Flint's idolization of him for his own benefit, before coldly attempting to kill him after he is no longer useful. He was also a very successful scientist that made a name for himself prior to the events of the series, with him even creating inventions when he was as young as three years old.
- He is the evil version of the Ultimate Good of the series, Flint Lockwood. Chester considered having friends a weakness, which eventually led to his downfall as Barb was fed up of his mistreatment and betrayed him, while Flint went on to live a good life with his friends as he selflessly risked his life to save them with Barb even choosing to redeem herself and stop being evil when she realized that Chester was never her best friend, going onto live a better life with Flint and the others instead.
