The Light, also known as God and his alias Chuck Shurley, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside The Shadow) of the Supernatural franchise.
He is a primordial being who is the creator of the multiverse and all life in it, including archangels, angels, humans, and other creatures. He is also the arch-nemesis of Sam and Dean Winchester.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He's explicitly stated in the show to be the reason (both directly and indirectly) for every bad thing in Supernatural and is the reason why Lucifer is as bad as he is, due to him giving Lucifer the corrupting mark.
- Unlike all the other villains including Lucifer and Michael from the Apocalypse World, he is easily the most powerful villain in the franchise, it was even stated that he can destroy and create life with his hands. The only villain, who's actually as powerful as him, was Amara, His sister, but she is less intelligent, less heinous and, eventually, he convinced her to merge with him.
- While he and Lucifer are the most evil villains of the franchise, he is shown to be heinous enough to out beat Lucifer by being the one who caused the events of the entire franchise, destroying almost every universe in existence, sheer personal cruelty with the Winchesters and his family and killing off almost the entirety of Earth to have the Winchesters and Jack suffer for eternity on a lifeless planet, making him the most heinous villain of the franchise.
- He's the only villain to have successfully accomplished their plan, initially at least.
