The Green Goblin is the main antagonist of the late Peter David's novelization of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, serving as the posthumous overarching antagonist of its sequel novelizations, based on 2004's Spider-Man 2 and 2007's Spider-Man 3.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He was the evilest villain in Peter David's Raimiverse novelizations. Doctor Octopus's Tentacles had moral agency issues and cared about their "father" and Venom was insufficiently heinous. Unlike his film version, he didn't cross into the MCU, confirming he managed to set the heinous standards of this continuity.
- He has the most influence on the story as he is the one who puts the plot's conflict into motion, and who causes Peter Parker to slowly become the noble hero he would later become in the later entries with also causing his misery as he tries to keep his identity a secret by pushing his loved ones away to protect them from his enemies. Even after his death, his influence is still felt throughout the novel trilogy and is responsible for finding Otto’s experiments with nuclear fusion, causing him to be controlled by his now sentient tentacles who push his descent into villainy to become Doctor Octopus, causing Harry and Mary Jane to learn about Peter Parker’s true identity, souring the formers relation and causing him to fall into the dark side.
- He is the most heinous villain in the novels, Doctor Octopus and his tentacles only threatened New York and Venom just failed the standards to the other villains of the continuity. The Green Goblin, however, attempted to take over the world and have everyone bow down to him.
- He had the highest resources of anyone in the novels, with Oscorp backing him up. He's also the one of the two most physically powerful villains, only Venom with a host can rival his strength.
- While his film version certainly had the heinous and power, he failed the heinous standards by crossing into the MCU. Therefore, this version of the Green Goblin qualifies as the TUE, due to not crossing into the MCU, making him the contender for this wiki.

Trivia[]
- His film version isn't the Ultimate Evil as he fails the high heinous standards of the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to his crimes relying on Fridge Horror. He's also less powerful than the other villains there, who comprised of people like Thanos and Infinity Ultron.
