Invictus is the main antagonist of the adult animated sci-fi series Final Space.
It is a malevolent god-like entity who was responsible for corrupting the Titans, except Bolo, from a race of cosmic beings originally meant to maintain balance in the universe but got out of hand because of its influence. Invictus is also sent to prison in Final Space and tries to escape its clutches using Mooncake and his powers so that it could consume life across all dimensions, eradicating everything in existence, and remake the universe in its own design. It is the one who open the breach in Final Space and empowers both the Lord Commander and Ash Graven. It is the archenemy of both Bolo and Mooncake and is Gary Goodspeed's second archenemy, after the Lord Commander.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- It is the most heinous character in the series and was consistently treated as a terrifying threat. Its goals of destroying all life in the existence are driven by a complete disregard for existence itself, beyond even the darkest motivations of other villains. Its cruelty extends to corrupting noble beings, like the Titans, transforming them from protectors of balance to agents of death and chaos.
- It is easily the most powerful villain to come out of the entire series. Even when trapped in a prison within Final Space, it retains the ability to project an astral form and corrupts the Titans, once-mighty cosmic beings who were themselves capable of universal devastation. Invictus’s powers transcend physical boundaries, allowing it to bend reality, control minds, and warp the very fabric of the universe. It commands abilities such as reality-warping, manipulation of cosmic energies, possession, and night-omnipresence, enabling it to infiltrate minds and environments across vast dimensions. Its power is so vast that it took both the strength of Bolo and the strategic might of the Arachnitects to imprison it, showing that even the combined efforts of other mighty cosmic entities were only barely enough to contain its malevolent force. Invictus doesn’t just overpower its enemies; it overwhelms and consumes everything in its path
- It has the most influence in the series. From within its prison, it corrupts and brainwashed the Titans after encountering them, turning them from benevolent beings that helped create the universe to creatures that spread nothing but chaos and destruction. Invictus’s influence stretches through time and space, subtly steering events and manipulating individuals to orchestrate its eventual release. Through the Lord Commander, which resulted in him becoming a ruthless tyrant who threatened the entire universe, and later Ash, who entered Final Space, it slowly corrupted her until she eventually turned against the Team Squad and helped Invictus escape from its prison. Its weaves its influence into the lives of the living beings, orchestrating events that gradually tear apart the existence.
