Jimmy is the main protagonist of the 2024 Swedish psychological horror game Mouthwashing.
He is the co-pilot of the Tulpar freighter, next in line to the captain, Curly. Shortly after the freighter's company, Pony Express, shut down, the spaceship would then crash into an asteroid, presumably caused by Curly with intention. However, it was eventually revealed that, over feelings of jealousy towards the captain, general inadequacy, personal circumstances, and his inability to "take responsibility," Jimmy had orchestrated the crash instead and blamed Curly.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is the most heinous villain in the game. He committed multiple horrible crimes like raping and impregnating Anya, intentionally causing the crash of the spaceship, permanently Curly incapacitating Curly and feeding him his own flesh. His actions eventually caused the deaths of every crew member except Curly, who was nonetheless broken anyway.
- He is the most influential villain in the game. Due to him causing the spaceship to crash and blaming Curly for it, he kickstarts every event of Mouthwashing and becomes the source of all conflict and tragedy in the narrative.
- He is the most irredeemably evil villain in the game. He raped and impregnated Anya just to vent his frustrations and caused the spaceship to crash out of sheer envy and pettiness. Although he felt regret about some of his actions and asked Curly to forgive him, he still tried to convince himself that he wasn't actually responsible for what happened and chose instead to evade consequences by killing himself; his remorse mostly amounts to how he treated Curly as well, as he doesn't demonstrate true remorse for how he destroyed the others. Even with regards to Curly, he still convinces himself that he made up for it to deflect his guilt.
- While Pony Express are the overarching antagonists that precipitated the events of the game, their crimes are limited to bog-standard labor violation and negligence, and their role in Jimmy’s actions are very indirect, making him easily stand out from them, even in influence.
