Judge Turpin, also known as Lord Turpin, is the main antagonist of the 1979 musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and its 2007 film adaptation of the same name. He is a corrupt judge who ruined the life of Sweeney Todd.

- He is the most evil villain in the entire musical, as he framed Benjamin Barker for a crime he didn’t commit and sent him away to a prison in Australia for life just to steal his wife, Lucy Barker away from him, had Beadle Bamford take Lucy to a ball hosted by the Judge, and once she’s at the ball, Turpin raped her while Beadle watched sadistically and everyone else decided to laugh at watching Lucy being violated, stole Lucy and Benjamin’s daughter, Johanna Barker away from them and raised her as his own for 15 years, framed a child for theft and sentenced him to hang from the gallows by the neck until he slowly bleeds to death for no reason, and revealing to Beadle Bamford that his plan is to date his own adoptive daughter, Johanna, who is only 16 years old in the exact same scene, and later, when Johanna rejected his hand in marriage, he locked her up inside an Insane Asylum out of petty spite.
- He is the most influential villain in the musical as he has ruined the lives of 4 people in total, that being Benjamin Barker, Lucy Barker, Johanna Barker and the unnamed child he sentenced to hang, with the ruining of Barker’s life of which caused Barker to become the vengeful serial killer and enforced cannibal, Sweeney Todd, making Turpin indirectly responsible for Sweeney’s villainy.
- He is the most powerful villain in the musical, as he is a judge with major political power that permitted him to wrongfully exile Benjamin Barker, with Beadle Bamford working as his right-hand man.
