“ | This is just the beginning. Soon we'll have all of China, and then; the world. We'll wipe all mortals right off this planet! | ” |
~ Ke-Pa, revealing his omnicidal intentions to the citizens of the Valley of Peace. |
Ke-Pa is the titular main antagonist of the Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness episode "Enter the Dragon".
He is an ancient evil that existed at least a thousand years before the events of the series that terrorized the citizens of the Valley of Peace for years until he was stopped by Oogway and trapped in the body of a mortal pig, but Ke-Pa would soon return to the Valley of Peace after the peach tree that stripped him of his power started to die, with him then continuing his omnicidal goal of killing off all life on the planet so he and his brethren can remake the world in their own image.
He was voiced by Alfred Molina.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is the most heinous character to grace the series, ruling over the Valley of Peace in a terrifying rule for years before his imprisonment, being the only villain that almost managed to kill Oogway, being the only character in the series that successfully killed Po (even if he was later revived), brutally torturing the Furious Five and Po and being one of the very few characters to be an omnicidal maniac, giving him the biggest scale of villainy in the series. While the Yaoguai Twins attempted to commit omnicide on the universe, it doesn't negate Ke-Pa's villainy because no life outside the planet the series takes place on is made explicit and the Yaoguai Twins also suffer from Fridge Horror with their goals as their goal to kill everyone isn't made very explicit with characters even surviving their reality ending wormhole, while Ke-Pa makes it clear he would kill every last mortal.
- He is one of the most influential villains in the series, being the whole reason for the Jade Palace's creation as Oogway wanted to seal his demon army to the underground with the Hero's Chi, being responsible for the destruction of the Jade Palace and being the reason why Oogway became the peacekeeper for China after defeating him and his demon army as one of his earliest foes.
- He is one of the most powerful characters in the series, being one of the few characters to possess superpowers such as telekinesis, magic, having the ability to use the lightning from clouds, having the ability to fly and due to being a supernatural demon, he possesses immense physical strength that allows him to almost kill Oogway with little effort, send the hundred to thousand ton cap of the seal to go flying in the air, being able to easily defeat Po and Shifu with minimal effort and he possesses the ability to breathe fire and shoot fireballs that can burn trees down easily and make massive craters in the Earth, which he used to destroy the Jade Palace. He was such a force to be reckoned with that only Po using the Hero's Chi could fully defeat him as he was impervious to all other forms of attack.
- He was built up throughout the two part special to be the most dangerous and powerful villain that the main protagonists would have to fight so far, with Shifu telling the others that they had never faced such a powerful enemy and that they would have to work together to defeat him in his mortal form alone, advising against doing it solo. When he regained his full power, he was able to easily defeat Shifu and the Furious Five with little effort when they attempted to stop him. After Po had killed some of his demon army and resealed the rest, Ke-Pa thrashed him around and tortured him with lightning from the clouds, weakening Po and almost devouring him. It only took a blast of Hero's chi, which Po only unlocked by returning from the dead, to put an end to Ke-Pa for good.
- Due to his satanic looks, powers, being dubbed "King of Demons" by a buffalo and coming from the underworld, Ke-Pa could be considered the equivalent of Satan himself in the Kung Fu Panda saga.
