King Ghidorah, also simply known as Ghidorah and dubbed as Titanus Ghidorah, or Monster Zero is the main antagonist of the MonsterVerse Franchise. He serves as the main antagonist of the 2019 MonsterVerse film Godzilla: King of the Monsters and the posthumous overarching of both its 2021 sequel Godzilla vs. Kong and the 2021 graphic novel Kingdom Kong, a prequel to Godzilla vs. Kong.
He is a malevolent, extraterrestrial, three-headed draconic Titan who invaded the Earth in the ancient past and clashed with Godzilla and Mothra, who succeeded in sealing him away beneath the Antarctic ice.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is the most powerful Titan in the MonsterVerse, being perhaps the only one capable of rivaling Godzilla in power (apart from Shimo), a global threat capable of endangering the planet, and an alpha Titan who can emit a call to awaken the other Titans so they will obey him.
- He is the greatest threat in the entire MonsterVerse, being powerful enough to destructively reshape the entire Earth to his liking, and is the most successful villain of the series, having become the alpha after Godzilla was seemingly killed by the Oxygen Destroyer.
- He is quite intelligent, every time he fights with Godzilla, he manages to think faster and make strategies, like when he bites the electrical wiring or when he calls Rodan to take care of Mothra. Ghidorah also recognizes the ORCA frequency as a potential threat and makes several attempts to eliminate the source, such as when he destroys Fenway Park's speakers to cut off the sound.
- He is the most influential Titan in the MonsterVerse, being one of Godzilla's oldest enemies (alongside the MUTO species and Skar King), as he fought him for several years in the ancient past until his defeat in the Antarctic and his subsequent awakening in the present, and even after his death, he was the one who directly caused the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, as he was indirectly responsible for making Skull Island uninhabitable, as well as Apex Cybernetics using one of his skulls to try to control Mechagodzilla, and his consciousness would eventually take control of the Mecha and kill the people who work for the company.
- He is the most evil of all the Titans; being the only Titan with the purpose of destroying Earth, also with the intention of enslaving the other Titans to help him with his mission (including Rodan), and he kills any and all humans he sees on sight while smiling in clear sadistic understanding of what he's doing. He kills Mothra, and then he tortures and tries to kill Godzilla one last time. The official novelization even speculates briefly that he doesn't really aim to terraform Earth into a suitable homeworld for himself, and that rather his every action might really just be driven by murderous hatred of every living thing that isn't him.
