Queen Legravalima, also known as the Demon Queen, is the secondary antagonist of The Promised Neverland franchise. She is the Queen of the Demon World who took her father's spot as ruler after Julius Ratri declared his promise with The One. Under her rule, she served as the primary enforcer of Ratri's promise, outside of the Ratri Clan, and is largely responsible for many of violent behaviors exhibited by the other demons, as she had purposefully sabotaged several means of their survival, just to stay in power.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Legravalima is perhaps one of the most influential characters in the entire manga, thanks in part to her tyrannical rule.
- After the agreement between Julius and The One, she proceeded to kill her own father so that she could take the throne herself, thus granting her the most resources at her disposal.
- When she did so, she felt the only thing that she was missing was high quality meat. When she asked for The One to give her such meat, he simply responded by having her and her people send him high quality meat instead, thus setting the stage for the ritual known as Tifari. This would also open the gateway to the practice of human farming.
- Legravalima also proves herself to be one of, if not the absolute cruelest villain in the series.
- Thanks to her hoarding all of the high quality meat, this left many of the demons to starve, making them devolve into mindless beasts.
- In addition to this, when she was notified of the existence of a group of demons that didn't need to feast on humans in order to avoid degenerating, she had the majority of the group exterminated, and hoarded some of the blood from the massacre herself so that she and the royal family would never devolve. In addition, she spread a lie that Mijinka, one of these demons, is a witch, and that the blood of her creed was poisonous to demons.
- When she is first being introduced, she is built up to be a figure that the other high-ranking demons either look up to or fear.
