In the real world, you need more than a neat, little detective story. You need evidence. And you’ve got… nothing. Wanna take that to the cops? You wanna take it to the courts? You pick your poison. Anywhere you go, it’s going to be your word against mine. How do you think that’s gonna go? I think it’s gonna go about like it went for Andi.
~ Miles bragging to Helen how he'll get away with his crimes.

Miles Bron is the main antagonist of the 2022 Netflix mystery comedy film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the second installment of the A Benoit Blanc Mystery film series.

He is the billionaire co-founder and CEO of Alpha Industries who plans to release Klear, a clean energy source, despite knowing it's an unstable, volatile substance. When his former business partner Cassandra "Andi" Brand tries to prove she was the founder of Alpha to prevent Miles from launching Klear, he kills her, and later finds himself at odds with Andi's twin sister Helen and renowned private investigator Benoit Blanc.

He was portrayed by Edward Norton.

Actions and Characteristics[]

  • He is the most heinous character in the film series, as his plan to launch Klear - an environmentally-friendly but extremely explosive alternative fuel - would have endangered millions of lives around the world.
  • He is very influential, as his desire to launch Klear is what led to Andi trying to pull from the company, causing Miles to murder her, which set off Helen on her mission throughout the film to prove his guilt in murdering her sister.
  • He is the series' most powerful villain, being a billionaire tech entrepreneur who had the resources to release Klear worldwide, along with the necessary leverage to blackmail the Disruptors into complacence with his crimes. His wealth and connections are so vast that he had the means to get the actual Mona Lisa loaned to him from the Louvre (though it may have been fake).
  • While it's explicitly called out that he is far from intelligent, he was nonetheless charismatic enough to initially befriend the Disruptors, has the acting skills to avoid suspicion, and is clever enough to steal the ideas of others for his own benefit, such as using Blanc's own words to come up with a near-successful way to murder Helen undetected, and burned the napkin the evidence against him was written on after Lionel questioned why he didn't dispose of it.
  • While he is quite comedic, being a bit of a parody of ultra-wealthy "geniuses," his crimes, especially the threat of releasing Klear, are treated seriously.

Trivia[]

  • Had Miles not been approved as NPE and remained IH, it would have rendered him too comedic to be The Ultimate Evil, as he was considered a parody of real-world supposedly ingenious billionaires until it was reasoned that the threat he poses with the launch of Klear is taken seriously enough to make his comedic elements minor.
