NOTE: This is about the Shattered Glass version of Optimus Prime and only he is the Ultimate Evil of the IDW Shattered Class stories as his original Fun Publications version do not qualify and the Ultimate Evil of the Fun Publications Shattered Glass stories is Primus.

Optimus Prime is the main antagonist of IDW Comics Transformers: Shattered Glass Comics.

He was formerly a senator known as Orion Pax, who was initially close friends with civil rights activist Megatron and the tyrannical ruler of both Cybertron and Earth. However, he betrayed him and the Senate for his lust of power to wage war and rein christened himself as Prime. Now he leads the dictatorial Autobot faction as he wages war against the Deception resistance in hopes of overruling both Cybertron and Earth by kickstarting the Great War is it means that he will get what he wants in the end.

Actions and Characteristics[]

  • He is easily the most evil villain of all the IDW Comics Shattered Glass stories as anyone that can be compared to him lacks characterization, fail the heinous standards, have moral agency issues, redeem themselves, or have redeeming and sympathetic qualities. None of them applies to Optimus Prime. Unlike his original counterpart from media or the original Shattered Glass series, he is the complete opposite as he is a power-hungry and egotistical monster who will destroy anyone and everything in his path, and unlike his original Fun Publications counterpart, he never comes close to redeeming himself in the end.
  • He is the most heinous villain in the entire work, as he is the sole reason why the world is as ruined as it is today by inciting the Great War and turning the world into a near-desolated wasteland and even invaded Earth to stripe it of its resources. He also has the most personal villainy towards the main cast, as he is the reason why Megatron and the heroes experience the tragedies they endured and also subjugated Shockwave to the barbaric Empurata torture that he reinstated himself after massacring the entire Senate.
  • He is most influential villain in the entire reboot comic book series, as he is the former friend of the benevolent Megatron who betrayed him for his own benefit and kickstarted the Great War to take over Cybertron and the universe that lead to numerous characters suffering.
  • He most powerful villain in the entire series, as he has complete control over the Autobot army and as well as having access to great resources like his deadly gun that he often wields and being able to take the form of a car as well as the other abilities his benevolent original counterpart possesses. Since Primus do not appear in this new continuity, he don’t need to compete with him.

  • He is so far the only version of Optimus Prime to be the Ultimate Evil ironically Megatron sometimes the Ultimate Evil and he is usually the Ultimate Good but in Shattered Glass it is reversed.
  • His his original Fun Publications version isn't the Ultimate Evil due to redeeming himself and Primus trumps him in terms of power and influence even then.
