The potential Ultimate Evil of Poppy Playtime so far.

Poppy Playtime is a survival indie horror series released by Mob Entertainment and is one of the defining examples of a "mascot horror" series alongside Five Nights at Freddy's. It is currently composing of one multiple-chapter game and two multiplayer spin-offs.

Plot[]

Poppy Playtime is an episodic video game where you play as a former employee of the toy company Playtime CO, who receives a letter inviting him to return to the company after it shut down ten years ago with all the other employees disappearing. There, the protagonist must find out the truth while trying to defeat the sapient toys, who are hostile.

Potential Candidates[]

The Prototype[]

Experiment-1006, the Prototype, is the main antagonist of the series. He is stated to be the most intelligent and dangerous of the creations developed by Playtime Co. and the predecessor to other toys, hence the name. The Prototype is responsible for orchestrating the Hour of Joy, where nearly all the staff members were massacred and devoured, with the toys being stuck inside the factory for the remaining ten years and turning against each other. The Prototype would also begin assimilating other Toys into himself and starts sending out minions after the protagonist upon their return. As the most powerful villain and second in influence to only Dr. Sawyer, the Prototype certainly has the potential to become the Ultimate Evil in the future. As of Chapter 4, he even managed to dethrone Harley Sawyer - the former holder of the title - by making him his underling.

While he's currently the only real qualifier for the Ultimate Evil, his story arc is ongoing, so it's too early to say.

Close Contenders for the Ultimate Evil[]

Harley Sawyer[]

HarleyMugshot

The Doctor, Harley Sawyer, is the overarching antagonist behind the whole franchise. A genius, psychopathic scientist and former friend of Elliott Ludwig, Dr. Sawyer started the Bigger Bodies Initiative out of a desire for recognition by turning orphaned children into toys before ultimately becoming one himself after being betrayed by Leith Pierre: in present time, he is the cruel overseer of the factory's prison who assists the Prototype in his goals. As the single most influential and heinous antagonist in the game, the Doctor was the only one to rival the Prototype as the franchise's Ultimate Evil; in fact, he used to hold the title and have a page on this wiki.

However, Chapter 4 revealed that Harley cannot be the Ultimate Evil due to becoming another pawn of the Prototype; he was only kept alive due to his knowledge and intellect, with the Prototype regularly threatening to kill Sawyer if he betrays him. It's even implied the Prototype wanted the protagonist to kill Sawyer as part of his plan. Ultimately, the Doctor was just a big bad wannabe who couldn't count for the title.

Leith Pierre[]

Leith Pierre's Tape Mugshot

The Head of Innovation at Playtime CO, Leith Pierre is fully aware of the experiments and supports the Bigger Bodies Initiative, actively covering up anything that goes wrong and taking part in the torture of the toys. Additionally, he's one of the few villains to get away with his crimes and is either equal or superior to Harley Sawyer in power.

However, Leith is ultimately outdone by Dr. Sawyer in heinousness and influence due to being too hands-off and disapproving of his actions, even for pragmatic reasons.

CatNap[]

CatNap Mugshot

Experiment-1888, CatNap, runs the Playcare orphanage site with an iron fist, torturing and then murdering any toy that doesn't worship the Prototype. On top of his intimidating size and strength, he can breathe the Red Smoke, which induces nightmares and hallucinations in people, making him stronger than most toys. CatNap has additionally played a major part in the Hour of Joy by recruiting other toys into joining the cause, making him both especially heinous and influential.

Despite all this, CatNap cannot count due to simply the Prototype's right-hand man on top of being outdone by both 1006 and Sawyer in heinousness, influence and power.
