Roman Armitage is the overarching antagonist of the 2017 horror film, Get Out. He is a racist cult leader that became prejudiced against blacks after losing to Jesse Owens during the Olympics, believing that black people have superior physical traits to whites, so he started his cult, the Order of the Coagula, that involved kidnapping African Americans and performing brain transplants so that he and his followers could gain pseudo-immortality by taking over their bodies.
In his original body, he was portrayed by the late Richard Herd and in Walter's body, he was portrayed by Marcus Henderson.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is the most influential villain in the film, being the one responsible for starting the Order of the Coagula in the first place, manipulating his own son Dean into carrying on his legacy, spreading his racist views towards his family and ultimately being responsible for the whole story happening due to his actions.
- He is the most heinous character in the film, being responsible for subjecting many people into the Sunken Place, which is a fate worse then death as the victims are aware that their bodies are being possessed and are not able to do anything about it, including putting his own consciousness into the Armitage's groundskeeper, Walter in order to make himself more agile and keep an eye on his family's experiments.
- Being the leader of the cult, Roman has the most power in the film between his family members, even if the gap is narrow.
