Scar is the main antagonist of The Lion King franchise.

He is Mufasa's younger brother and arch-rival, as well as the arch-nemesis of both his nephew, Simba, and later grand-nephew, Kion. The former leader of the Lion Guard, his desire to rule Pride Rock drove him to enact a regicidal plot to kill both his older brother and nephew and usurp the throne.

Actions and Characteristics

• As the Lion Guard leader, he had the Roar of the Elders, making him the most powerful lion in the series as he uses the roar to thwart enemies with ease.
• When the Strange Lion poisons him and tries to blackmail him for his own plots to usurp Mufasa, Scar performs an Eviler Than Thou on the lion and kills him, becoming the gravest threat to the Pride Lands.
• Is without a doubt the most influential villain in the series. Nearly every installment in the franchise has occurred due to the result of Scar's actions.
• Upon Scar's death, he has brought a dark legacy as the symbol of evil itself in history while the Strange Lion that corrupted him remains nothing more than a forgotten relic of the past.
• Upon losing the Roar of the Elders, he rallies up the Hyenas to his cause, and uses it to enact a successful coup against his brother Mufasa and kill him, in which his reign saw the Pridelands turned into a near-lifeless wasteland and is happily willing to let all life present starve to death to ensure his control over Pride Rock remains. Upon Scar's death, rains pouring, symbolizing that the Pridelands will live without being tainted by Scar's evil.
• He rallies up the loyalty of Zira, leading to the formation of the Outsider clan led by her upon naming her son Kovu his heir, leading to the events of the second film when Zira is out to avenge Scar's death.
• Is ultimately resurrected in The Lion Guard, and on his wake, unites all the evil forces in the Outlands from Ushari to the hyenas, the jackals, the vultures, and then the crocodiles, to slowly destroy the Pridelands piece by piece and then burn it all to the ground, becoming the most dangerous villain in the series as a result.
• Even upon his second and final death, Scar has Kion poisoned by Ushari's venom so that he can posthumously become just like him, leading to the events of the third season.
• He is responsible for Zira becoming the evil and abusive mother that she was towards her cubs as her whole point in life was avenging his death. Furthermore, his actions of corrupting Zira make him indirectly responsible for Nuka's death.
• His actions are implied to have caused Simba to be afflicted with post-traumatic stress disorder and make him overprotective of his daughter Kiara and almost turned him bad as well.
