Sigma is the main antagonist of the 2005 video game Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, a remake of the 1993 video game Mega Man X with a new overlying plot.
In Maverick Hunter X's continuity, Sigma is a former Maverick Hunter who revolts against humans of his own will due to a desire to further reploid evolution, as opposed to being possessed by the Maverick virus as in the original timeline. Sigma's crimes are far worse than the original and overall he is substantially more villainous than his original incarnation.
He was voiced by Mugihito in Japanese and Gerald Matthews in English.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Unlike his original counterpart, who is a tragic Villain by Proxy due to being a victim of the Maverick Virus' infection, this version of Sigma is completely evil on his own voilition.
- He is the most heinous villain in the game as he kickstarted the Maverick War and succeeded in the destruction of Abel City.
- He is also the most influential villain as he is responsible for most villains' actions.
- Considering the series takes place in a new continuity, he does not have to compete with Dr. Wily due to the latter never appearing in the game.
