The Entity is the main antagonist of the Dead by Daylight franchise. It is an ancient, otherworldy creature responsible for plucking the Survivors and the Killers from their respective worlds and bringing them into its realm, forcing them to play its sadistic game for all eternity so it can feed off of their emotions. It is also the Narrator of the spin-off Hooked on You. It has collected Killers and Survivors from across the multiverse, with some notable being Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Due to its sheer cruelty and sadism, it is by far the most heinous villain within the franchise. It traps its victims in a never-ending circle of suffering where every day, at every turn, one has to fight for life. Death, too, is no way out as survivors are revived with magic to keep their torment going on and on. Killers, too, are being manipulated or tortured into serving its will.
- It is, by far, the most influential villain in the whole tale:
- it is responsible for pulling individuals from various dimensions and worlds, including notable killers like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger.
- It carefully keeps a balance of hope and despair, just enough so that survivors might be able to get away long enough that their fear and struggle do not weaken.
- It twists killers into servants to do its bidding, while at the same time it is worshipped as a god-the Black Vale and other multiverse cults sacrifice to it.
- It stands as the most powerful villain within the Dead by Daylight universe, as it creates trials by changing memories, resurrecting dead subjects, and shaping the very reality of things. Universes were consumed in their entirety, time and space juggled, while its psychological powers exercised their victims. Such absolute control over life and death is reflected in the "Endgame Collapse" event.
