I have toyed with you long enough. It was I who kept our civilization growing! I drove our people further than Argall did. Held us together after the Scourge Virus! I've earned my command! I deserve to lead! I'm what our people need! I don't care what is decreed--what your bloodline earns you! You have earned nothing! All you deserve--IS DEATH!
~ Thragg's villainous breakdown as he attempts to kill Omni-Man to keep his rule over the Viltrumites.

Grand Regent Thragg is the main antagonist of Robert Kirkman's Image Comics series Invincible.

He is the most powerful Viltrumite and the ruler of the Viltrum Empire, having been trained from birth in all manners of combat to lead the Viltrumites in the aftermath of Emperor Argall's death. Tasked with finding Argall's heir, Thragg eventually abandoned his mission after the Scourge Virus nearly wiped out the entirety of the Viltrumite population, believing himself truly worthy of leading the Viltrum Empire. He is the archenemy of Invincible and his father Omni-Man, being the most powerful villain the two have ever fought.

Action and Characteristics[]

  • Compared to other villains and Viltrumites in Invincible, Thragg himself and multiple others have stated Thragg to be the strongest Viltrume in the entire series. The only time Thragg ever loses in a battle is when he is outnumbered by his foes, otherwise Thragg will beat them in a one-on-one combat battle.
  • With the death of King Argall, Thragg was given the title of Grand Regent to rule over the Viltrumite Empire for many years and has been able to conquer multiple planets with the resources Thragg has been given.
  • He is easily one of, if not the most heinous villain in the entire series as he is responsible for numerous misdeeds from destroying and conquering other worlds to raping an entire planet full of women to get his own Viltrumite Army made of his own children after being exiled by Nolan Grayson and abusing his biological children to become soldiers of his cause of revenge against not just the Viltrumites but Nolan and Mark Grayson.
  • He is the most irredeemable character as he has committed some of the worst atrocities in the comic and lacks any redeeming qualities and those he had were subverted.
