Your victory has no meaning. You merely prolonged your suffering. The rule of mortals has ended! The world belongs to me!!
~ Trigon to Beastboy, Cyborg, and Starfire in "The End - Part 3"
Go forth and conquer! One by one, worlds shall fall until every being in this entire dimension bows down to worship Trigon the Terrible!
~ Trigon to his demon army in "The End - Part 3"

Trigon the Terrible is the overarching antagonist of 2003 animated series Teen Titans. He is a demonic warlord and arch-nemesis of his daughter Raven. He intended to come to Earth by using Raven as a portal with the assistance of Slade. He also intended to take over the universe through sheer force.

He was voiced by Keith Szarabajka in "Nevermore" and later by Kevin Michael Richardson for the rest of the series, who also voiced General Aguila in TMNT.

Actions and Characteristics[]

  • When Raven spoke about him, she described him as a villain that was extremely powerful and unlike any of the villains they have faced due to his immense and fearsome powers. While Raven, one of the most calm titans, rarely shows true fear over any enemy, she was very terrified of her own father knowing full-well what he is capable of. She would spend ample time trying to find multiple ways to stop his arrival on Earth, but eventually gave up realizing that her attempts were futile.
  • He is by far the most powerful villain in the franchise. He is proficient at using a variety of superpowers. His powers includes psychically communicating with others, raising an army of demons, reanimating the dead into an undead form, possessing omniscient intelligence, granting superpowers to others and taking them away on his volition, terraforming the Earth by turning it into a hellish landscape, cracking open part of the Earth with raw strength, opening up portals to alternate worlds, creating living doppelgangers of others who can match the strength, intelligence, and powers of their original counterparts.
  • While he felt pain, he could not be destroyed easily. Even with the combined attacks of the Titans and Slade assisting them, he was still held overwhelming power over his enemies. The only things capable of actually harming him is the power his daughter possess and Ring of Azar that Slade states was able to seal him away.
  • He has the highest kill count out of all villains in the franchise. In the past, he was responsible for destroying the world of Azarath and killing off most life in that world. In addition, his arrival on Earth resulted in killing billions of lives on Earth within seconds by turning all life to stone when he terraformed the planet into a hellish landscape.
  • In addition to the high kill count, he was the one of the cruelest characters in show who showed no love for his daughter, only seeing her as a useful pawn to help him appear on Earth and discarding her afterwards. He was also notably sadistic by showing pleasure in prolonging the suffering of Beast Boy, Starfire, and Cyborg by creating doppelgangers to psychologically and physically torment them.
  • His appearance darken the tone of the story bringing forth one of the most serious conflicts the heroes would have to face in the entire show. Unlike most villains who wanted to dominate the world with no one in their way like the Brain, Trigon intentions were to destroy all life on Earth.
  • He was the one that brought Slade back from the afterlife. Slade was the main antagonist of the series and one of the most serious and dangerous villains the Titans faced. Slade served directly under him by following his orders and working to ensure Trigon's plans would come to fruition.
  • Despite already destroying Earth, he represented a threat beyond a global scale. He sought to spread his influence across the universe and sent his minions to terrorize other planets. He orders his minions that all life would bow to him.
