Ch'rell, better known as Utrom Shredder, is the main antagonist of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 animated series.
He is an evil and rogue Utrom as well as an interdimensional/extraterrestrial criminal mastermind, who has instigated countless wars throughout the universe, until he eventually arrived on Earth and assumed identity of Japanese businessman Oroku Saki, using the old legend of a warrior while secretly running terroristic organization called Foot Clan.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- Is the Turtles' most persistent foe. While lacking the power the Tengu Shredder has and in comparison, relies more on raw power, said raw power with access to advanced alien technology makes him very hard to put down for good with him returning from a seeming death countless times with characters even unsure if he really is dead when the Utrom Shredder was defeated and seemingly vaporized in Turtles Forever. Said raw power gives him an advantage over the Tengu Shredder in expanding himself towards the cosmos than just be limited to Earth.
- Has a universe-spanning empire that he uses to overall conquer the entire universe through bloody slaughter.
- Even upon being stranded on Earth, he uses Utrom technology to build himself a suit and be a notorious crime lord controlling the underworld in New York and Japan while becoming a rich philanthropist who as a result has all of New York under his thumb in Season 3.
- Is easily the vilest and most destructive TMNT villain, having orchestrated multiple wars that caused millions of deaths across the cosmos as well as dozens of mutations on Earth and seeking to raze the universe at large into submission and force under a hellish and fascist rule where everyone is either forced to be his slaves or die.
- Upon dethroning the '87 Krang and Shredder in the crossover film, Turtles Forever, to showcase him being an actual threat compared to them, Shredder hijacks the Technodrome to become the biggest threat to all of existence in not only the series, but the entire TMNT history as a whole as he attempts to destroy the entire multiverse by killing the Mirage Turtles, having now the ability to travel to different universes while making the Technodrome a force to be reckoned.
- Although his horrific death by the idiocy of Bebop and Rocksteady is a bit humorous, it is an extremely brief scene which doesn’t detract from his heinousness as it does not paint it for any laughs given the serious threat he posed to the Ninja Turtles. After all the things he has done, it is otherwise played for satisfaction and karma and he deserved it for his actions.
