| “ | I look down on existence from a much higher perspective than you do. I witness this world, this universe and the truth of all things. That yields deeper understanding. Wisdom. The realization that all mortals should be destroyed. The one and only mistake among all divine creations. That is what mortals are. And this mistake is egregious. To shape existence into the beautiful utopia it was always meant to be, the mistake must be corrected. I will purge all mortals from existence. In place of the gods WHO REFUSE TO ADMIT FAILURE! | ” |

| “ | A world of undisturbed beauty. Mortals are a foolish and ugly mistake that stain the majesty of the cosmos. By eliminating all mortal creatures we can restore its original splendor and reclaim this perfect creation. | ” |
| ~ Future Zamasu |
Zamasu (in Japanese: ザマス), alternatively spelled as Zamas in the manga and Dragon Ball Fusions, is the main antagonist of the "Future Trunks" Saga in Dragon Ball Super, and a major antagonist in the Dragon Ball Heroes anime. There are two different timeline incarnations of him working together to exterminate all the mortals in the multiverse, Present Zamasu, also known as Goku Black, and Future Zamasu.
Zamasu was the North Kai of Universe 10, and the apprentice of the Supreme Kai of Universe 10, Gowasu. He believes that mortals are dimwitted and abuse their god-given wisdom for evil and violence, and that the Gods are reprehensible for allowing them to flourish across the multiverse and sully its peace and beauty. He is Future Trunks' arch-nemesis.
He was voiced by Shin'ichirō Miki in the original Japanese version, and James Marsters in the English dub.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He has the highest kill count out of any other villain, as he slaughtered countless mortals in all twelve universes in Future Trunks' timeline, and by the end of the Future Trunks saga, nearly all life has been wiped out and eventually erased from existence.
- In Goku Black's timeline managed to kill Goku without him even sacrificing himself and then did the same to Chi Chi and Goten. This is a feat most villains struggle to achieve.
- As Goku Black, he is so strong that in his normal form he is able to fight on par with Goku in Super Saiyan 2, who by this point was a much stronger than Super Perfect Cell who threatened to destroy the entire solar system. And as Super Saiyan Rose, he is capable of defeating both Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue forms, which are more powerful than Super Saiyan God, which nearly destroy the universe.
- As Fused Zamasu, he is able to break all the bones of Goku and Vegeta in their blue states with just one move and it took Vegito in his Blue state to deal with him. He reached such a level that Trunks needed to gather all the remaining energy of the earth to be able to finally cut him in half with his sword.
- By shedding his physical form in the anime, Zamasu would become an omnipresent entity, planning to become the universe itself and wipe out all life in all timelines, which would've caused countless deaths. His power was such that his actions were affecting even the original timeline and even Beerus was worried about it. In the manga version, after Goku Black and Future Zamasu forced to defuse, they transform into multiple pair of Fused Zamasu and keep multiplying to overwhelm the heroes.
- He is notably the most vile villain in all of Dragon Ball, being much more destructive than the other villains that came before and after him.
