“ | Zoran Lazarević: Are you a student of history Mr. Drake? Nathan Drake: I've read a book or two. |

~ Lazarević demonstrating an example of his ruthlessness to Nathan and Elena Fisher. |
Zoran Lazarević is the main antagonist of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. He is a brutal and power hungry warlord that wishes to seek the mythical 'Cintimani Stone' in order to gain immortality so he can conquer the world, only to find out that the 'Cintimani Stone' doesn't exist and is actually sap from the 'Tree of Life', which he consumes to later become near immortal before being killed by the guardians of Shambhala as it is being destroyed.
He was voiced and motion captured by Graham McTavish.
Actions and Characteristics[]
- He is easily the vilest antagonist in the series, being responsible for committing genocide on the citizens of Nepal, massacring a whole Tibetan village in order to find Karl Schafer and get the key to Shambhala, being willing to murder his own men to show how ruthless he is and planning to take over the world with his army after becoming immortal, putting his scale above several other villains in the series. He even refers to evil dictators such as Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Genghis Khan and Saddam as great men solely because of how evil they were and Elena calls him a monster in-universe due to Zoran's complete willingness to kill an injured Jeff, showing he completely lacks any traces of a moral conscience and has no excuse other than just being power-hungry.
- He is the most powerful villain in the series, having access to a large army with tanks, attack helicopters, heavily artillery, large amounts of explosive weapons and after consuming the resin from the Tree of Life, he becomes immortal with superhuman abilities to the point where regular gunfire did nothing on him and the only things that could damage him were the overgrown saps that grew on the trees around the arena.
- He is highly intelligent with him correctly deducing that Chloe betrayed him due to the fact she no longer had the Phurba Dagger on her, blackmailing Nate into helping him by using Elena and Chloe as leverage, knowing how capable Nate is, being the only character that figured out that the seemingly monstrous guardians were really just super humans with costumes on, had Flynn use himself as a human mine by telling him to pull a grenade when Nate, Elena and Chloe found him and he possessed extensive knowledge about Marco Polo's expedition to Shambhala due to purchasing all his journals and researching them obsessively.
- Overall, he is the one responsible for everything that happens in the game, either directly or indirectly and while his influence doesn't extend much past his debut game, his actions left Elena psychologically affected for a long time due to being responsible for her near death experience at the hands of Harry Flynn to the point where Elena wasn't nearly as enthusiastic or willing to go on adventures until 5 years later, even not wanting to go to great lengths to help Nate and Sully find Iram of the Pillars due to this, giving him more impact then a lot of other villains.
